oh my goodness we had to read this the other day in my 'women and the legal system class' - it's ridiculous...but all i know is i'm certainly happier when i can put on lipstick, powder my face, and wash my hands several times a day. oh the woman psyche!
Each day we live bids at least one moment of reflection. Sometimes these moments lead you no where and you wish later you had spent that time catching 5 extra minutes of studying. But sometimes...you think of something truly profound, and if you never share it with someone it becomes lost in the abyss of our million thoughts and endless activities.
Use this forum as an opportunity to share your memories, your dreams, your emotions, your values, your stories. Slowly we will begin to uncover the many levels that make up the deep ocean of a woman. I draw on the metaphor authored by my comrade Ashley Tilman of women as an ocean, whose tumultuous waves upon the surface reveal only that: the surface. Indeed it is below the surface, in the deep, complex ecosystem of emotions, desires, strengths and weaknesses that we discover the true woman. Our goal is to scuba dive into the mysterious deep, and explore a place waiting to be understood.
Out of this metaphor is born the name of this blog: Em-ocean. Let the exploration begin. I look forward to hearing from my comrades as we carry on and wish you all a happy dive...
